Top cards from Edge of Eternities

ree

Guys, Edge of Eternity is basically a Lands and Artifacts collection, so this Top 10 will have a lot of that and for the same reason, I'm not going to put my expectations on where they will see play, because any deck in these archetypes will want these cards.

Honorable Mention: Lands, all the Lands in this set, even though the Red Planet is the weakest, it's still good. Not to mention that this Commander set started completing the Land Cycles of Tango and Bicycles, so, BG and RW players, here we have good options that didn't exist before.

10. Uthros Research Craft

The only problem with this card is that Station is a somewhat weak ability. But in an artifact deck that can easily activate +3, it's one of the best Draw Engines available for this deck. It can also double as a late-game finisher.

9. Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam

A reasonable Draw Engine for counter decks, and can even be the Commander of one. The ability is relatively easy to activate since you only need to attack with any creature, and counters can be removed from any creature. There are no additional clauses limiting anything, providing some flexibility.

8. Scour for Scrap

When I first read this I thought "Fabricate as Instant, cool" but I saw the second mode and thought "Great, I can choose to grab from the graveyard instead of searching" then I read "Choose one or BOTH". So you're telling me I can search my deck AND return one from the graveyard, all at instant speed? That's an amazing card, right there

7. Tezzeret, Cruel Captain

Any colorless planeswalker should raise the player's eyebrows. The newest version of Tezerret, however, will only find a home in more Artifact-Heavy decks. His entire kit is very good, and his passive makes him a looming threat at all times.

6. Horizon Explorer

I've lost count, but gone are the days when Amulet of Vigor had a special, unique ability. But for something to be viable in a singleton format, that's what we need: recurrence. The newest member of this club comes in a good body for a good mana cost and has the added bonus of producing the game's newest Token, "Lander." Whether they'll be as good as Clues, Treasures, and Bloods, only time will tell.

5. Hearthhull, the Worldseed

I really hope to see the Lands archetype in Jund again. Lord Windgrace doesn't make the cut this Days. This new Commander is both a Value Engine and a Finisher. The +2 Station can easily be switched On by mana dork that you would already use to Ramp anyway, and the clause to play an extra land doesn't force you to play from your hand, so if you can play from the grave, for example, the sacrificed Land just comes back.

4. The Endstone

An excellent top end of the curve for many decks. I can easily see Azusa playing this, as my opponent plays land after land, drawing multiple cards, and throwing multiple Eldrazi at me. The last clause can reduce your life at some point, but more often than not, it will restore some of your life in a difficult situation.

3. Frenzied Baloth

How many lines of text can we fit on a creature card? Wizards ask themselves this question every time they need to print a new Power Creep. This new threat to Controls is both compact and gigantic. The only missing line is "This creature makes you Coffee".

2. Icetill Explorer

We had cards to play Extra Land and cards to play Lands from the Grave, but both in the same card? This combination is especially stronger when compared to Oracle of Mul Daya, since with a Fetch land, you always have two Land Drops, in addition to having a third Mill ability that I didn't mention, on top of a much better body.

1. Consult the Star Charts

One of the best "Draw" spells printed in recent years. On turn 2, it's on par with a Sleight of Hand in Instant speed. As the game progresses, its power grows, allowing it to easily dig through 4 to 6 cards. The kicker also provides the option to grab an additional card, further increasing its usefulness in the late game. If kicked from turn 4 onwards, it's already exactly the same as a Memory Deluge, for example, without taking into account UGx Ramp Decks, which will do all of this bigger and faster.
