The decision to maintain the status quo is intentional. After implementing significant changes (rules, bans and unbans, experimental changes) in the previous update, we want to give the community more time to adapt and explore the new game environment. We want to thoroughly analyze how these modifications have impacted the metagame in the long term.
As a reminder, the last major update introduced fundamental changes to the format rules:
Reducing the starting health to 25.
Reducing the Commander Damage required to win to 18.
These changes were also accompanied by changes to the banned card list, aimed at balancing the format in light of the new rules. This period of stabilization allows us to gather valuable data and feedback from players on how these bold steps have impacted the pace of play, deckbuilding diversity, and the overall health of the format. We are closely monitoring the evolution of the metagame and encourage continued experimentation with strategies.
Thank you for your involvement and valuable feedback. The next update will be released according to our schedule.
